The Discovery Of Your Personal Alchemy: Avenue #1

Merlin the MagicianWhat we see with our physical eyes is such a small fraction of what is present for us. There is a whole other world of multidimensional existence that we forget about. Our own magic lies in the connections we have to those other dimensions. And it is not really about re-connection but about simple awareness that we are already connected. As we get so caught up in our day-to-day lives and the personal stories and dramas that we create, we forget that the key to ease, grace, and joy in our lives is right there for the taking. When we are aware of our inner magic, our personal alchemy, we can bring back the balance we need and the clear focus that helps us create what we want in our lives and helps us flow and roll with the punches that life can bring.

When the doors of perception are cleansed, man will see things as they truly are: INFINITE ~William Blake

This words come from a true alchemist. He understands that our  personal alchemy, our inner magic, can be reached and tapped into when we clear out the years and layers of “stuff” that has been piled on top of it and has buried it from our sight. So today I offer a powerful tool to help you to begin to clear away some of those layers.

The technique I am going to share with you is based on the teaching of Julia Cameron from her fabulous book “The Artist’s Way”.  She created a very powerful technique that she calls “Morning Pages”.  The “Morning Pages” are a way to clear out our minds; the thoughts that are just floating there; the emotions that are just waiting to be expressed. I have come to think of them as “Anytime Pages” because I use her technique any time of the day. The principle is to use stream-of-consciousness writing and pen out, without pausing, three pages in long hand. Just write whatever comes to your mind. WHATEVER! Know that no one will be reading these pages and that you are free and safe to write whatever comes up for you. I use them in the morning, but also any time of day that I feel a sense of overwhelm in my brain or when I feel myself not present in the moment because my mind is flooded with thoughts or emotions that  are taking me out of the now. If done on a daily basis, you will begin to feel lighter and clearer. I feel a difference after one sitting. You will begin to feel more connected to the Source of all Magic. It is truly magical!

I will warn you that there may be mornings or days that your inner mind chatter will tell you that you don’t need to write anything. It will tell you that you are wasting your time or you will suddenly feel the urge to do ANYTHING but write.  But when you push through that fighting ego and just do it, the rewards will  be immense!I Present To You Your Magic Wand!

As the layers are slowly cleared away, you will begin to feel you inner magician awaken and come to life–just like magic!

“We are all wizards. Breathe in this glorious fact. Feel it. Know it. The magic is there all around you. Just when you least expect it you will see a beautiful wand in your hand and your desires and dreams will have materialized at your feet. Merlin is all of us and we are all Merlin.”

I wrote those words to you all back in February and they still stand true. You are Merlin and Merlin is you. It is just a matter of continually using the right formulas–the formulas that work for you– to find and open up your treasure chest of Magic. And just so you know, you were born with this treasure chest. Maybe you are now just finding the map or perhaps you’ve been sidelined a bit with some adventures and have rekindled your hunt for your buried treasure. No matter what your circumstance may be, these tools I am sharing will help you to find that buried treasure.  It just takes a little practice and a little patience. I will give you the shovel. It is simply up to you to pick it up and break ground.

The technique I present to you here is a meditation based on the Buddhist meditation called vipissana. It is all about the amazing art of being present with whatever arises.  What I share with you I call B.L.I.S.S. meditation.  Here I will break it down for you:

meditation3

  1. Breathe
  2. Look
  3. Inside
  4. See
  5. Separate

Simple. Straight forward. Direct to the point. And you may ask, what IS the point? The point, the bottom line, is to get to #5 and see that you are SEPARATE from all that is arising, whether it be a thought or an emotion. Thoughts and emotions come and go with the wind. The trouble comes when we follow their track.

So  find yourself a comfortable place where you will not be disturbed. Close your eyes. Breathe, just normally. Focus on your breathe as long as you can. Be patient. Even if you can only focus on a half of a breath; that is perfect. When something pulls you away from your breathe then Look Inside. This means simply to look at what comes or is coming up. There will be thoughts or perhaps emotions that will arise.

See these thoughts or emotions. You can perhaps see the words themselves. Or if it is an emotion, label it. For example, if it is sadness, say to your self “sadness”. Observe everything in this way. And as you do this labeling and observing, it will become magically Separate from you. When you become the observer, that thought or emotion is no longer felt as to be you or part of you. Once it is all separate, then comes the Magic. All of this can happen in a matter of seconds. As you arrive at the bottom line of becoming Separate from what you are seeing or observing, then go back to the first step which is to Breathe and focus on your breathe. You have come full circle in the process.

BREATHE –> LOOK INSIDE –> SEE –> SEPARATE

The  minute you begin to honor and observe that which has arisen, it will fall away and dissolve into that which it came from. And when you continually do that, you will begin to see glimpses of your inner magic; your treasure chest. This practice will help to unveil your personal alchemy.

Ever find yourself on a treadmill in your head, running the same thought over and over and over again? If you feel yourself caught in this trap, take in a deep Breathe, Look Inside, and See the thought. This action will then magically Separate you from it so you can jump off of the treadmill. It relieves the overwhelm, the distraction from the Now. And in the Now is the only place we will ever discover our Magic. This tYour Magic Wandool can be used anywhere anytime to bring you back to focus and back to life.

If you practice this BLISS meditation diligently, you will uncover your inner magician more and more. It takes persistence and patience to dust off that Magic Wand of yours. But isn’t it worth it???

The Discovery Of Your Personal Alchemy: Avenue #3

FlowingWhat does it mean to be connected with your magic? Have you ever had a day where everything just seemed to fall into place–you felt yourself flowing with life, everyone you met was happy, you got your favorite parking spot at work, your relationships flowed, and you said all of the right things? Sometimes it may feel as if those days are too far and few between. It is for that reason we have to put a bit more effort in propelling ourselves towards the discovery of those moments in order to make them virtually an everyday occasion. Skeptical? Even if you are, join me now as we take a closer look at one avenue you can take to arrive at the place of flowing with life instead of flowing against it. Just give it a try…

Take a moment now and be still. Search your memory for a day where you experienced a feeling of being in the flow; when you knew there was magic in the air. As you remember this, feel it as fully as you can. If you cannot remember one, imagine what this kind of day could be like for you. See yourself waking up happy, well-rested. Imagine that everything is easy for you, people are complimenting you, special things “just happen”. When you clearly feel and see this most perfect day, notice how your body is effected. Perhaps you will feel a smile creeping across your face, your breathing slowing down, and any tension you have leaving your body as you see it, feel it, smell it, hear it, and even taste it. You will be giving this scene, this idyllic landscape, full life. Give yourself permission to totally use your imagination. Just go for it!

A Perfect Day!As you fully feel this glorious scene, you will be raising your vibration. A raised vibration is the only way you will be able to attract and create magic in your life. Our Inner Magician is made of this high vibration so it will be stimulated by these lovely and beautiful thoughts. The more you do this, the more it will become a habit. You can even do this when you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed. It is in those situations we need to tap into our Inner Magic the most. Stress and overwhelm carry with them low vibration so it is in those times we need to raise it up. Thoughts are so very powerful. They can simply make you or break you.

When you find that you are fully immersed in the joy and lightness of your scene, you can anchor this feeling with a unique gesture like squeezing your thumb, making a fist, or pulling your earlobe. Anchoring is a neuro-linguistic programming term for the process by which a state change, activity, feeling, or event, becomes connected or anchored to a particular stimulus such as I suggested above. Do this anchoring gesture when the feeling of joy and peace is at its height. When the feeling fades, create the same or another idyllic scene and repeat the same imagination process as you did the first time. Repeat the anchor stimulus again at the most intense point. Repeat this whole process a third time. So now in the future, when you repeat the anchor, you will be taken back to your scene and its ensuing high vibration.

Magic WandNow you have a built in reminder and trigger for your Inner Magic. How great is that? It works beautifully for me, especially when I am in a tense or stressed place. It is in those moments we forget that we Truly are Merlin. I”ll do whatever it takes to find and use my beautiful Magic Wand. How about you…?

How often do you find yourself insisting on a very specific outcome to a desire you have? I must confess, I myself have been in insistent-mode a bit too often in my life. This means then that I am resisting and not accepting where I am in that moment. I have come to realize that all of that insistence and resistance leads to one thing: the unravelling of any opportunity I may have had to reach my goal; to manifest my desire. It’s a funny thing how pushing and insisting stunts any and all growth. Our thoughts, if not policed, can do this. Because we forget about co-creation and letting go, suddenly our Magic is no where to be found; our wand becomes deactivated and turns to lead.

Downstream

So how do we find our magic source and activate our beautiful wands? Simply get out of the way and ALLOW. Okay. So maybe it may not seem that simple at first, but with practice it can be. And it all starts with the first moment of awareness: awareness that we are not holding the vibration of what we want but of that which we do not want; awareness that we are thinking thoughts of “It has to be this way! My way!”; awareness of the idea that if we trust and relax, it will all flow.

It is much easier to flow downstream than upstream. The downstreams of life show up when we allow. The upstreams show up when we resist what is and insist on the how. And for me, maybe a part of stepping into the allowing is to accept that it is all much easier than my thoughts lead me to believe.

Below I share with you a video from Abraham, a group consciousness channeled from the non-physical dimensions who are hailed by Louise Hay as ”some of the best teachers on the planet today”, and by Wayne Dyer as “the great Masters of the Universe”. They talk here of what they call “The Law of Allowing”.

It is interesting that at the end of the video, as they speed through their sharing of information, we still “get it” and it resonates fully. Perhaps because it really IS all so simple…
