The Discovery of Your Personal Alchemy: Avenue #5

September 28th, 2009 by Elizabeth

If you have been engaging in my 7 Avenues to Discovering Your Personal Alchemy, you may be beginning to see a common thread: glorious Magic already exists within you. It has just been forgotten or covered up with other “stuff” over the eons. Each technique I am sharing simply helps you to clear away the clutter, pull up the weeds, and help you to clearly see the path that leads you right to that treasure chest of Magic. It is there at all times for you to access. These tools are just helping you to get there faster and easier.

magic-wordsOur inner Magic is of a higher vibration. So in order to resonate with that higher, lighter vibration of your Magic, it is important to focus on that which is also of a higher vibration. Do you see how holding higher thoughts and their subsequent emotions will bring you to a place of vibrating higher? Love, compassion, joy, and happiness–these are all of a high vibration.

To test out this theory, try this: for two hours say the words “I am at peace” (When your mind takes you away from this thought, gently bring it back to the phrase). This really is not anything fancy or involving having to know any high complex spiritual laws. The word “peace” carries with it a sense of fulfillment and oneness; it is calming and soothing; and best of all it is a word of a high vibration. Watch as your mood changes, people respond to you in a different, lighter way, and perhaps even exciting and positive events will occur–all just like Magic! Here are some more powerful words to use in the same way: love, happiness, joy, faith, God, Light, Oneness, I Am, ohm. Discover the ones that work for you.  ”A-bra-ca-da-bra” are not the only Magic words!

With this kind of Magic in mind, read the suggestion below by Og Mandino, one of the best-selling inspirational authors and teachers of our time. This quote will open your eyes to a way of being that, if you practice it with commitment, can change your life.

Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do so with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.

It may at first sound a bit radical. But just try it. Your heart will open, the compassion will surge, and the Magic will flow. This thought provoking exercise is just an example of an infinite number of ways to open your heart as you raise your vibration. If you are willing, you will discover and create more ways to raise your vibration as you interact with Life. When you open your heart fully, that is when Merlin shows up.

Always remember: You are Merlin and Merlin is you. magic_wandsvg1

The Discovery Of Your Personal Alchemy: #6

You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you  ~James Allen

second thoughts2I must say that I certainly agree with Mr. Allen. Your thoughts are the first step in creating the life that you want; the first step in awakening and then using your Magic.

Did you know that your Magic has a special formula? Here it is:

Thoughts + Emotion + Action + Allowing = Magic

It is the Magic that mysteriously takes you to the door of your hearts desire and at the same time gives you the key. And as I am sure you know, one’s thoughts can run rampant and if they are not policed, can wreck havoc in your life. If they are cultivated and observed and understood, you can use them for your highest good.

Undoubtedly you have by now heard of the movie “The Secret”. “The Secret” is all about rediscovering your Magic and talks about the importance of using your thoughts to manifest what you want in your life. As the formula above demonstrates, even though thought is one of four components in our becoming Magicians, it is important to note that it is the first step.

So in this vein, I recommend the use of what is called a Vision Board or what I like to call a Magic Treasure Map. This special Map, when you are done, will speak your desires  through pictures. And the Magic part is that these pictures are not only speaking to you or whoever may look at it, but they are also speaking directly to the Universe and clearly expressing what you want to show up in your life.

vision-board4

To begin, gather magazines, newpapers, photographs. You’ll need glue (not Elmer’s as it wrinkles up when it dries), scissors, and some poster board. I like to have all of my supplies ready to go in front of me, and then I will sit quietly or play some gentle, lilting music,  and simply ask myself what my intention is–what do I really want. Perhaps ideas and pictures will flow. Or if not,  once in a quiet space, pick up your magazines and start flipping through. Images will jump out and your creativity will flow. You can also cut out words and phrases that resonate. Have fun!

Then, when you have piles of pictures and words or phrases, place them on the board in whatever place and way you are drawn. Remember that there is no right or wrong; just go with your intuition as to what is right for you. This is the time you will feel magic flowing. Allow yourself to be swept off and to feel as if you are one with the pictures and images and that these beautiful desires are part of your life. If you have a picture of yourself–it is best if you are smiling in the photo– use that as a centerpiece of your Magic Collage. Then you will not just feel to be a part of these beautiful desires, but you can SEE them flowing all around you.

Put this Magic Treasure map where you can see it and feel it. Spend time each day immersing yourself in these images. Breath them in and feel them to be a part of you.

Your thoughts are the building blocks of an amazing life. Use whatever tools you can to choose them carefully and to take you where you want to be.  Wield your wand as you follow your Magic Treasure map and smile knowing that you are Merlin and Merlin is you.Magic_wand.svg

The Discovery of Your Personal Alchemy: #7

As I have been saying, discovering your inner magic is not about creating your inner Magic. On the contrary, you are loaded to the gills with Magic. It is about REDISCOVERING your inner magic. You have simply forgotten that you have this vast storehouse, this amazing bag of tricks. So here I present to you yet another key to rediscovering your Wizardly powers:

Music makes the world go around.

Magical music notes

It also can assist you in discovering your inner magic.

The beauty of music is that it can put you in touch with your wizardry in an instant. That’s because music is Life. It stirs our inner being. It touches our hearts. With its power it can remind us to breathe, to become present, to feel our hearts beating with the breath of Life. Its simplicity can bring a tear or a smile or even remind us of all the somethings that are beyond this 3-D dimension. It reminds us of love, passion, and beauty while it fills us with joy and peace. And that is where we find our inner Merlin–nestled within that vibration of love, joy, and peace.

My suggestion to you is that you make music more and more of a conscious choice in your everyday existence. Let it take you away to those magical creative places and let your vibration soar through the roof tops. Make it a part of your daily routine–just like brushing your teeth.

When you are feeling less than wizardly, put on your favorite tune. When you are looking to feel more empowerment, melt into a wonderful symphony. Or when you are simply wanting to find some peace and strength amidst a hectic day, fall into your favorite melody.

Below I share with you some songs that assist my magic in flowing forth. I know you have your favorites too.

Eva Cassidy: an all-time-favorite from an amazing beauty:

David Lanz: Simply magical…

You are the composer of your life. The symphony is yours to conduct and arrange and set to the music of your dreams. As you hear the lilting, magical melodies of your choosing, feel and know for sure that you are Merlin and Merlin is you. Your Magic Wand!

Say What You Need To Say

September 20th, 2009 by Elizabeth

As wonderful as technology can be, sometimes it just foils us. I happened to notice this afternoon that the video I had of Tim McGraw in my post “Live Like You Were Dying” (August 30th) had been taken down. Unfortunately, I could not find a replacement. But as I explored other possibilities, I discovered a video that gave me yet another perspective in dealing with the ego. As I had said in the earlier post, we often get caught in the tricks and complaints of the ego mind, and it is often work to not get tangled in its web. I embrace anything that can help me to get unstuck from the chatter and distractions of my crazy little inner voice and bring me to a place of presence in the moment.

The video and song I found is from the movie “The Bucket List” with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. As did Tim McGraw’s video, this one too brought me to tears as I was reminded of what is Real and what is not. It reminded me of how important it is to stay in the moment and not succumb to the wild ride that the ego mind can take us on. In reality, our stay here is brief. So why waste precious time on the ego’s rollercoaster? But the video also speaks to us of speaking our Truth in relationships with others as well as in our relationship with ourself. Just say what you need to say and embrace each moment as if it was your first— and your last.

Watch the video and listen to the profound lyrics and music of John Mayer. And then see what you need to say…and to whom…

I Love You

Whenever you have a moment of fear, doubt, unworthiness, pain, suffering, loneliness, or sadness, remember the words that you about to hear below in this lovely, profound, tear-and-goosebump-inducing video from Joyce Meyer Ministries.

Here’s to you as you feel and know the Oneness of All That Is.

Mountains to Mole Hills

September 3rd, 2009 by Elizabeth

There are challenges in all of our lives that look like treacherous, looming, monstrous mountains. As we all know too well, they are just part of the lovely roller coaster ride called Life. As I wrote in my previous post, I like to stockpile as much ammo as I can to help with my mountain-taming.

So here I present to you my latest round of ammo. Watch this video of a remarkable woman, Hilary Lister, who sailed over and through her limitation of being a quadriplegic as she sailed around great Britain using a specially rigged boat with some amazing straws.  Take a peek and then see if you find any mountains turned to mole hills in the geography of YOUR life.
